The Democratic congress’s achievements, is this the “change” they speak of?
I vividly remember in 2006 how the Democrats gained control of both houses of Congress trumpeting “Change” and a better America. Let us review how that has worked out for us.
* Mortgage companies have declared bankruptcy costing thousands of people their jobs
* Home values have nose-dived
* World oil prices have risen astronomically to over $4 a gallon.
* The Democrats continue to block drilling in oil rich reserves and even increase our dependence on foreign oil
* The stock market, where most Americans’ retirement hopes are invested, has dropped by nearly 20%..
* Food prices are increasing at an alarming rate fueled mostly by rising energy costs
All of this has happened while the Democrats have had legislative control in congress.
9% approval rating… surprise?
And of course, the Congress controls the stock market and the housing industry and oil prices and food prices, so you’re right.
But you’re forgetting the biggest thing to happen since the Democrats have taken control of Congress.
