How do wireless webcams work?
I was at my mom’s house the other day, and I noticed a little black camera (looked a bit like a webcam) on top of the tv pointed out into the room. I, as inconspicuously as possible, checked it out. It had one wire coming out of it that plugged into the electrical outlet.
When my mom’s boyfriend got home, he went directly to his computer where he sat for a good 30 minutes. Now, my question is: Is it possible this camera is a wireless webcam? My mom’s manfriend is a complete ars, so it really wouldn’t surprise me if he’s spying on her this way now too. I’m growing more and more uncomfortable visiting her home anymore.

If it is a web cam he would have access to it from a computer whereever he is sitting. If you have a laptop with a WiFi connection you can go into the house and have it tell you what wireless networks are in the area. If he has named it something like Bob’s Webcam you will see it in your list and try to connect to it yourself.
Of course if he freaks when you come in with your laptop it might be fun to watch….
