How can I keep my house protected from robbers?

For my birthday on Friday we went to San Diego and when we came back all my moms jewelry was gone and there was a crow bar in the grass but we have an alarm system and dogs. But the alarm ppl called my mom an told her that our alarm went off. Also they stole all my moms jewelry In 3 minutes. Also those ppl who stole my moms stuff must have been watching us like when were home and not home and these 2 black guys always drive around our block I suspect them but plz help me!! ): this jut happened 2day and no haters!!

If the “2 black guys always drive around the block” that hardly sounds like being subtle about casing your place – don’t be too quick to blame somebody – but tell the police what you know.

With an alarm system and dogs I wonder how they managed the break in? The alarm company are supposed to call the cops first – did they? If not you should sue.

Phone you house insurance as soon as possible to make a claim.

How can you keep it protected? Tough. You can turn it into a fortress with bars on windows, steel doors and even more Alarms but that just makes it seem you have something worth stealing…

If you go out for the night or overnight leave lights on (with a timer to turn off at (say) 11pm.
You can have a radio or TV also on a timer that will make it seem people are home.
If you DO go away, load your luggage late at night when it’s quiet and people are less likely to see you doing it.
