I was recently wandering around my neighborhood taking amateur pictures for fun when I was standing a few feet from a car and it announced loudly, “You Are Loitering.” I was only there for less than a minute and several feet from the car. What exactly is the law about loitering? would I actually get in trouble for this if the alarm went off?

No.

You were loitering, in the dictionary sense of the word. But you were not committing the criminal offense of loitering.

You may steal someone’s heart, but that does not mean you have committed the crime of theft.

Unless you work in an organ bank, and you actually stole someone’s heart.
