500w Security Light

can i use a 300w or 500w halogen bulb in a security light meant for 150w?

bought a parkhurst 150w security light from b and q. it’s been fitted (attached to wall/wired up) and it’s only now i realise it may not be bright enough for my garden. i’m not sure if the bulb can be replaced as i don’t think i’ll be able to do a store return

No I do not think they are the same size in length anyway. Plus they are rated for what they have.
I suggest you get a brighter one or add another one to make it brighter. Which might be better anyway this way you can aim them both where you like.
