What can I do to stop thinking about someone breaking into my house??
I am a 21 F and live with my hubby in a nice neighborhood but outside of Richmond,Va which has a high crime rate..( rated one of the top ten highest crime in the usa) and I’m from a small (safe) town and have been scared to death up here now.The news is filled with horrible things and makes me worry that someone will break in our home at night. I have a dog… and he barks whenever he sees something.. but I don’t have a alarm system b/c my husband says we can’t afford one right now. We did have someone break in my car the other month but the cops told us it was random and that it wasn’t something that happend in out neighborhood often. I have thought about just getting some decals to put up… anything I can do to feel safer? I hate not feeling safe in my own home!! Our subdivison has hardly any street lights too which bothers me. I am so worried sometimes that I get up and look out the window… anyone have any ideas.. or thoughts? Am I just worring to much?
Relax, and consider the odds.
Your dog is key. Let the dog know you don’t appreciate needless barking. Your dog won’t let you down if there is REAL trouble.
The news can mislead your thoughts. The news station is selling commercials and does not care if they are creating fear in you. They want you to watch their show and become reliant on them.
Your hubby has an obligation to get a (low cost) door knob motion-detector device that senses motion and emits a piercing alarm sound that will stave off the evil-doers. The dog will take over from there.
You can inexpensively and easily display security decals that overstate your system.
Again.
Relax, people you don’t know are much less evil than the news-makers would have you believe.
Alarm Decals, Car Alarm Stickers, Security Decals, Warning Stickers for you.mpg
